Do I wash the fabric in the kitchen towel kits before or after cutting and sewing

Hello, we like to sew the kitchen towels, then wash them. The shrinkage is minimal and doesn't negatively impact the shape or hems. I made a few of these for myself and gave a couple as gifts this year. They are so pretty! A it for sure. And the cardinal print is perfect for we Ohioans!
The cardinal design has a lovely double border printed around the edges that makes it super easy to fold/press/sew the hems. I recommend taking the time to miter the corners, it really adds to the piece. The grain is straight and it's a joy to sew. I just finished sewing 20 of these for Christmas gifts, they make a lovely presentation.
