Fabric specifications:
The deep, inky tone of ROYAL PURPLE
linen has the warm intensity of a dwindling sunset as the light fades
into shadow. This time of day was a favorite with painter Paul Signac,
who saw deep purple tones in the shadows around him as the golden sun of
his native France began to sink downwards to the ground.
At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Will the IL020 3.7 oz softened royal purple return or was it a limited supply color?

Is it sheer?

Not overly in some lighting it may be but overall most do not need to add another layer when wearing.

I purchased this to match a heavier weight linen I purchased 6 yrs ago. I was amazed that it was really close. The heavier linen is an 1830's petticoat and this new linen will be a short gown. I also bought extra because I wanted to make a top for the summer. I love all the linen I can get from the Fabric Store. It wears like iron.
This is the most beautiful shade of purple!
This linen washes up nicely. Will make top and flower pants. Would be nice to have this color in the 5.3 oz linen for heavier lacks

This linen is soft and the most gorgeous rich purple. It arrived this morning and after washing and ironing, I'm half way through making it up. It's sews beautifully. Looking forward to a reason to buy more.
Color not as expected
The purple in the photo above is darker than what i received. I like the feel of the linen, and it is a good color, but more of a medium purple or lavender, actually. I recommend getting a sample, if you really want a darker color.
