There is a pale, almost lilac tinge to GOUACHE Linen's pastel blue, echoing the dreamy, mystical light of Belgian Surrealist Rene Magritte. Master of the uncanny, Magritte transformed familiar objects into magical or metaphorical symbols by floating them amidst hazy, pastel skies and airy white clouds, letting them drift off into another world, where lucid dreams unfold.

At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Lovely lightweight fabric

This fabric is a stunning cool blue with purple hints. It is lightweight and perfect for making summer garments - just wear a slip underneath. Lovely quality, overall thrilled with this fabric.

FS Phoebe in IL020 Gouche. Oh, what a lovely blue! When sewing, be sure to use smaller-than-normal stitch length for bias binding in IL020.

Used this lightweight linen to make a summer kimono-style wrap dress (Victory Patterns Trina Dress). The linen is light enough to wear on summer days. I love the colour, and how this dress turned out!

I hand-stitched these palazzo pants with a draped neck blouse that hangs in two layers on the front from your gouache fabric for a cool summer outfit. The pale azure blue color glows and makes me feel wonderful when I wear it. It hangs nicely and was easy to "iron" with my fingers as I stitched the seams. All I had to do was measure and press it down between my thumb and index finger to get a clean, straight seam to stitch. A really lovely fabric that I highly recommend for spring and summer sewing.

Recently discovered this linen retailer and have been inspired by the many posted works. I love this color blue. It's so beautiful and I wanted to try making the scarf Judy posted in the Cobalt color. No sewing required, just cut out a size of another scarf you may already have. I did 20 inches by 73 inches. Then I washed it on warm, line dried, ironed it and pulled out some threads around the edges to create the fridge. (The curtains in the background were another project in the medium weight Mixed Natural.)
