VINEYARD GREEN linen is the color of energy and growth, suggesting fleshy leaves and dense meadows of wild grass cast into an oasis of cool shade. French Impressionist painter Claude Monet saw the rich, vital potential of this color, returning to it again and again throughout his career to convey the depth and variety of the French landscape.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I love this fabric!

I am in the process of making my first Paola jacket in this 7.1 oz linen. (I made a sample garment in 8 oz denim as a test to see what changes I'd like to make.) I washed the fabric in warm water and dried it on medium. The shrinkage was 2" per yard in length. Minimal if any change in the width. I had ordered samples of various colors. My yardage was only slightly darker than the sample but not enough for concern.

Beautiful and soft

This fabric is heavy but super soft after a couple of washes. Perfect weight for a robe and towels I made. Very satisfied.

Pilgrim Attire

I am working on a Pilgrim outfit for the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower landing, & this heavyweight linen is the perfect weight & color for the bodice. It washes up great, & I can't wait to get started!

We play music at medieval re-enacting events This was a heavy enough linen to not need lining, while still light enough to be very comfortable on hot sunny days, even while wearing a separate under-tunic.

Stomacher gown made for my friend (L). This was the first one I did and another friend helped me drape it and make a bodice pattern. After this attempt I found that starting with the bodice and sleeve shapes of commercial patterns worked much better.

Fair warning. The actual linen is much lighter than is shown online...

This is a 14th Century Cotehardie and the fabric is fantastic. Being in the Society for Creative Anachronism, having a breathable (and 'period') fabric is a MUST and this linen absolutely fits the bill. I *love* the color and the fit of this linen (the white is IL019, as well). I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone doing Recreation or Renaissance type clothing. It's hands-down, the best. I also like the subdued color of this green.
