Weighing a mere 2.8 ounces a square yard, this 59 inches wide MUSLIN fabric is as light and airy as a feather. Essentially, this cloth is two very fine cotton fabric layers that are joined together by interweaving. This process creates little pockets of space and air that are left in between the two layers making the overall cloth very light, soft, breathable, and voluminous without becoming heavy.
This MUSLIN cloth, which is both lightweight and durable, will be a welcome addition to your sewing room. A must-have for delicate items that need a bit more substance such as baby swaddles and slings, baby bedding, toddler garments, lounge apparel, and home textiles.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.

I would like to use this as one side of a reversible wrap dress. The other side would be a slightly heavier cotton.Do you think this would work ?

We are offering IC008 cotton fabric almost without shrinkage , if you planing to use another heavier cotton and this cotton will have a shrinkage it's possible final item will shrink differently when you will use the wrap dress.
Hi! I'd like to use this for a baby's hooded poncho. Do you think this fabric will be sufficient as is, or should I add another layer?

This is a very lightweight fabric, so you may like to add another layer.

We estimate no more than 7% shrinkage.
Even though this fabric is highlighted for children's items, is it also nice for blouses, shirts or dresses?

Yes, you can use this for adult items as the print isn't only for children. When washed this fabric gives the look of a beautiful double-gauze which is very fashionable for blouses and dresses.
