At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Simply Beautiful!
The color is beautiful and the linen is soft. I am very happy with my purchase. I don't have time to sew with it right now as my craft room is being worked on. In general, I just began sewing in February and I always have loved linen, so everything that I can sew will be made with linen if possible. I do not have a reason to shop at another linen store except maybe for printed linen (but then again, I don't know how to sew with prints yet). Anyway, I think that I am going to order the swatch sets for the heavy weight and medium weight linens so that I have the colors available for my creations. I intend to purchase a barn yard red linen next to make some wide leg, high waisted trousers which is my favorite thing to wear. I am so glad that I discovered this store!

Wish I had ordered more. Now it's sold out. I pre-washed in cool water, and ironed while still damp. It is just the best linen I have ever seen. The light baby pink is true to the photo.
My 7 year old granddaughter asked for a pink dress. This is a beautiful soft pink. Fabric is easy to sew and looks adorably rumpled.

I got the perfect shade of pink to replicate a sundress I made for a friend of mine when she was about 2 years old. Her little girl is one year old today and I will be able to make one just like the one her mom had. The fabric is very close in color and will be perfect for this project.
Made a custom apron, a pleasure to work with. Not quite opaque but very close. I doubled the fabric to make it heavy enough for realistic use.
Finished Projects
I can't stop buying this linen so when my resident physician daughter said costumes were encouraged, I was ready—why just dress up scrubs? FYI, this picture shows the full project best; it was worn with a white t-shirt as the dress itself showed too much skin. Figure she'll have to hit local Renaissance Fairs to get some use out of it. The pink and white are mid-weight linen and the baby blue (folded, so doubled) is light weight. The entire dress is lined (used what I had; a satin-look lining fabric).
This fabric made up easily and is very comfortable to wear. I used no pattern. It is my own design.

Beeswax Food Wraps. The idea occurred to me that these food wraps would be a very cute Valentine Gift with a little card and treat. I have heard so much about these food wraps as a more sustainable option than cling-wrap or plastic wrap for food storage. Typically, it seems like people use cotton more than linen for this project. Here are my thoughts on this: all the natural antibacterial, hypoallergenic and sustainable properties of linen make linen a great choice for me! I used Fabrics-store's Light Pink Softened, Sahara Rose SF and Barn Red 5.3oz as well as the Pink Cotton Gingham 3.6oz and can see that I might have preferred the 3.7 oz for the linens just for the thinner fabric but am still pleased with my project in both linen and cotton.
