IL019 KENYA Softened - 100% Linen - Middle (5.3 oz/yd2) - 20.00 Yards

Kenya is a rich combination of red and brown that some call red-earth, bold on its own, but combines well with neutrals and other fashion colors.
KENYA linen's
rich shade of red ochre seems intrinsically bound to nature, invoking
rich, fertile soil and the careworn bark of ancient trees.
Kenyan
contemporary painter Michael Armitage has embraced this earthy color to
convey his homeland of Kenya, illustrating its wild and untameable
beauty with an evocative array of ochre and sienna tinged hues. Amidst
his fantastical, wild scenes people from modern life are intermingled
with the ghosts of the past, crossing back and forth over one another to
form a prismatic and complex vision of Kenyan identity today.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces, this 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Such a gorgeous earthy colour that is reminiscent of the soil on Prince Edward Island and other maritime provinces. Very grounding.
I used this Kenya with my medieval blue for my Fall pillows and throw.Easy to work with and looks so pretty together.
This linen is a beautiful earthy color, very similar to Spice. When I hold them next to each other Spice is very slightly brighter, but they could easily be two different dye lots of the same color. I'm not sure what I will do with it yet, but it would make lovely clothing, napkins or tablecloth.
I got the IL019 and its the perfect weight for apparel. Washed and dried and the color is still beautifull!! Will be buying more
We are glad you like it :) IL019 really is a great go-to fabric for most projects. Let us know if you need ideas or patterns!
Such a beautiful color and was a dream to work with. I have made 8 or 9 tunics this spring and summer to go with my white linen pants and crop pants. Here in Texas linen is king year round.
I am a true lover of your linen and being on a limited budget had to wait for a sale to purchase Kenya. Wow! was it worth the wait! I love this color, it reminds me of a dark caramel candy, with it's rich earthy color. Just beautiful and the quality I've come to expect from you. Thanks for offering these exquisite colors in the best quality linen at a price I can afford.
I wanted new 100% linen dish towels and was unable to find any at a reasonable cost in a color I liked. I ended up going with IL019 in Kenya and could not be more pleased! It's a great weight and very absorbent. I also ended up covering a dish mat for the items I hand wash. It's worked out perfectly.
ABBEY wrap cardigan will always be timeless, perfect with many things in my wardrobe and be sure to become one of the favorite items! This cardigan turned out to be so comfortable, ideal for a hot summer day, it can be worn as a dress or as a tunic, with shorts and a tank finished off with a pair of sneakers. For sewing I used FS KENYA Midweight Linen, I have loved this rich brick shade for a long time. I would also like to sew a heavyweight linen long sleeve cardigan to wear in the fall.
I have chosen the FS KENYA Midweight Linen because first I had a real crush on this color! I chose this weight as it lends itself to make a garment for summer. For a long time, I was also eyeing the Papao Pant pattern from Ready to Sew, which is a French pattern company, and thought it was a perfect match. I also had in mind to make a faux-jumpsuit with this pant and asked the Instagram community for recommendations on the most suitable top. The Cielo top was very popular so I decided to give it a go! What is so great about making a set is that you can make your fabric the most profitable when cutting. Now with all the scraps, I am planning to make a hat and scrunchies so this fabric will be fully used. This color is so beautiful in the sun. It gathers and pleats so nice and feels soft and breathable for summer.

Jedi Librarian costume, made with Kenya and Royal Purple, as a commission for a youth librarian for an upcoming Star Wars event.

Raw-edge kimono jacket with dark blue chambray bias-binding, made in rustic-weight linen. Positively my favorite color to work with that Fabrics-store.com offers. More clothing available in my Etsy shop: etsy.com/shop/NausikaaTextileArts?ref=hdr_shop_menu

I love working with this linen! Overskirt is made with Kenya, and underskirt is Chocolate. Wonderful drape and the perfect weight for clothes.

My brown petticoat is from the Kenya color linen; the apron is Taupe (I believe) or beige. My husband's waistcoat is the 5.3 oz white linen lined with the 3.5 oz white linen. His haversack is also from the 5.3 oz and is 2 layers thick. I love the linen! The prices are great too!
