Abstract Expressionist painter Willem De Kooning was obsessed with pink, making it a defining feature in many of his most renowned works of art. These include his formative paintings of women, caught up in great tangles and ribbons of expressive colour. While De Kooning eventually abandoned these figurative references for a language of pure abstraction, warm, naturalistic coral shades like PEACH PINK were still ever present; on the one hand, they suggest a lingering human presence, yet, as many art historians have pointed out they also invoke references to nature, suggesting anything from hot sand, to terracotta earth or blooming flowers. De Kooning commented in his later years, "Now I go on my bicycle down to the beach and search for a new image of the landscape… All the images inside me are from nature anyway."

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.

As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Curious whether the IL019 peach pink could be considered a fall color or is it more of a pastel? Thanks

Hi there, We love this color year round. If you are particular about your colors it is best to get a sample so you can see it in person and compare it to your fall wardrobe :)

Is the IL019 fabric suitable for a variety of women's apparel - pants, skirts, tops. If a pattern calls for 3 yds of 44" width fabric, how does that translate to 59" width?

Hello, to figure out the exact yardage for different width, you can do a mock layout of your pattern pieces on a flat surface using the width of your desired fabric. With your pattern pieces laid out, you can measure the length they take up and that will be your yardage. Just add shrinkage after that.

Color of linen I received is more orangey.

I guess it's time to order swatches to alleviate the $$$ I've spent with you.

A beautiful peachy-melon

I am making a summer shirt for my husband from this fabric. It is such a delightful melony-peach color, not pink at all. And of course the fabric is luscious. A delight to sew as much as to wear.

Peach pink IL019 FS Signature Finish is a very bright summery color. It has a nice drape and doesn't wrinkle much. This picture was taken after a 4 hr car ride. NewLook 6891.

I was immediately drawn to the Tangelo and Peach Pink that's reminiscent of the bold paisley prints of the 70s but staying in the monochromatic lane. The colours also reminded me of Caitlyn's series on dopamine dressing using another fabric in this range, called Love Bird. The colors scream summer and happy. It brings on the bold statement needed to balance the silhouette. Now was the time to investigate and decide what patterns to use.

I used this peach pink linen to make a ring sling baby carrier for my granddaughter. I followed the directions on You Tube and used 2 1/2 yards of IL019 Linen fabric cut in half lengthwise and hemmed all around the perimeter. Then insert one end through both rings and secure in place approximately 14" up from the rings. I used three rows of stitches. You Tube has videos showing how to wear a ring sling and get your child in it safely.
