Natural is the earth made, not dyed, color of the flax plant once it is made into thread. No dyes, no bleach. The only thing that impacts the color of the cloth from one production to the next ( if it is more beige or grey) is the amount of sunshine and rain that particular flax harvest had.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

Hi .. I have 15 yards of this wonderful fabric that I ordered from you a bit ago. I'm wondering about two projects. 1) I do aqua-aerobics every morning and I think this would make a great easy to carry and nice rough finish for drying well towel for after my showers at the Club. Do you agree? 2) I would like to make a bedspread or a Duvet cover as well ... any patterns or input of that ? Thank you kindly, holly G

This makes wonderful towels for ANY application, be it home or away. You can't ever go wrong with linen towels. They polish your skin and dry you off quickly, plus the linen fabric is naturally anti-microbal. The linen fabric dries very quickly as well. I have made bedspread and blankets out of linen and there is nothing better in hot weather. I get a tiny bit chilly with my ceiling fan on at night and the linen is the best cover up to keep me from being overheated. I am a complete linen convert and have found so many ways to use it! Good luck!!

Is there a pattern for the dish towels?

Sandra • February 4, 2023
Maureen profile image F|S Team

At this time we do not have a tutorial for the dish towels in regular linen. Our in house seamstress would recommend maybe cutting something like 20" x 30" from the washed fabric and hemming. She also recommends using a dish towel you already own as a template to help figure out the best cutting layout based on how many yards you have or will purchase.

The color of the linen is darker than I had expected. I want to dye it a more uplifting color of blue instead of the dark brown if that is possible. Any helpful tips for the process would be very much appreciated.

Beautiful fabric

I made a pair of pants using the Elizabeth Suzanne pattern and they are my absolute favorite pants - I know this fabric is one everyone is using for upholstery and drapes, but it really is versatile and I think perfect for pants and shorts as well.

Great rustic linen

I have used this linen for towels, linings for fabric messenger bags, and aprons. It's sturdy and softens nicely with washing. A great fabric for home decor.

Thick and true linen!

Such a great thick linen! I prewashed, ironed and then cut pieces to size to sew for liners for my sourdough baskets. A breeze to sew and they work beautifully for my intended purpose. Such a cost effective way to many multiples!!

I block-printed my dogwood pattern on a table runner I sewed with a mitered hem. This fabric is lovely -- a rustic weave with a soft, drapey hand -- easy to sew, took the ink well, and washes beautifully. nancyenloe.com/shop/dogwood-runner

This unsoftened Natural linen was go to go after only one washing. I'm sure it will soften more in time, but I was surprised to find it not really needing more for this tunic project.

Roxanne • April 23, 2024

This fabric was perfect for the Sew Liberated Studio Tunic. Soft enough to be very comfortable to the touch, yet having enough body to easily slip on over whatever I'm wearing. I'm loving it, and thinking about making another using a darker shade of the same fabric.

Some bread bags I made with this linen. They came out great and they do work for storing bread. Much better than plastic bags. I sewed French seams for a beautiful finished look. These will be used for The Guesthouse as I always leave a lovely breakfast for guests.
