IL098 Jacquard Loire Natural / Evergreen Fs Signature Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.9 oz/yd2) - 2.00 Yards, Width 59"
A decorative interpretation of the Arboreal motif made up of entwined foliage, flowers, acorns, and berries in the Natural - Bright Green color way.
The engineering of this cloth allows the Jacquard to be read equally well from either side - you have a reversible fabric that changes its dominant color scheme depending on what side you pick.
Lying in a haphazard pile at a Parisian flea market was all that remained of a glorious collection of textiles that once graced the halls and environs of Loire castle.
The remnant was pulled from that pile and brought to our studio where we were able to translate the complexity of design and texture to the Jacquard loom, and the 100% linen Loire Collection was created exclusively for F|S.com.
The different weaving techniques utilized to create this fabric make it 3-dimensional - you have a textured cloth that communicates the motif visually and tactilely.
The intricacy of the design permits the cloth to be used in any direction, with the motif maintaining its representation regardless of the angle.
This cloth is 61 inches wide, delicate to the touch, and a heavy weight to last generations.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Customer Questions and Answers
What s the ‘base cloth width'? I don't nderstand that term!
It is the width of the natural ground not the pattern size or repeat.
Do you have any widths that will make a 70" round tablecloth?
We selling fabric 58-59" wide, unfortunately we do not have wider fabric at this time in stock .
I'm still not comprehending the shrinkage factors for this special cloth. Pattern size and repeat are intuitive, but not so ‘natural ground'. I'm a complete novice when it comes to linen,; So can you define natural ground? Or give me a % of shrinkage for warp and weft? Being retired I'm confined by a restrictive budget. When cost is over $35/yd I must be careful with calculations.
Based on our recommended washing instructions, the shrinkage is warp 4.80%/weft 4%
Can Loire be paired with a solid linen for a two sided blanket or will the shrinkage difference make it distorted? Thank you
You would want to launder them separately before constructing your blanket to remove the shrinkage from each item. As long as all of the shrinkage is removed from each linen, once sewn together, there should be no additional shrinkage that would cause distortion.
I would like to use this to make a jacket. Is this fabric appropriate for that use? I saw a comment about loose weave...and wanted to ensure it had enough texture after washed and dried for a jacket.
Beautiful linen to sue for your project. This is not considered a loose weave and will tighten up nicely once washed.
Following up on another question regarding the use of these wonderful fabrics with a coordinating solid. I would like suggestions on paired the solids with the prints, for example, this is a beautiful print that would be accented by solids but which solids? A suggested neutral and coordinated color or two would be great! The drape on these is fantastic so which color and weight would blend in the best? A photo of the suggested coordinates would also be helpful. If I had a big project I would get samples but for smaller projects advice and a photo would be enough.
Is there a solid shade of green that best coordinates with this print? It is hard to see accurate colors from pictures, and I would like them to match as close as possible. Thank you!
Would this be good for a ladies fashion corset?
We recommend getting a sample or small cut to see if this fabric is right for your project. Many different fabrics and weights are used in a variety of corsets, fashion or otherwise.
Can this fabric be used to make slipcovers? Thank you!
Yes, this fabric has a lovely heft to it without being too thick, and is smooth and soft to the touch. A great option for slip covers.
This fabric is lovely! Soft, great design, and beautiful colors. However, it has a far looser weave than anticipated given the canvas weight. It will still work for what I'm going to make, but I wanted to warn others.
