IL019 All-purpose Dolphin Gray Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2) - 2.50 Yards, Width 58"
Robert Delaunay’s art is filled with silvery shades of grey-blue like DOLPHIN-GRAY Linen, which he adopted to convey the sparkling atmosphere of the modern city. One of the greatest pioneers of the early 20th century, Delaunay stirred up a storm with his dazzling Cubist and Orphist abstractions.
Backgrounds in his paintings are subtle arenas of grey and blue, miming the silver sheen of the industrial age. On their surface small accents of acid-sharp color loop, swirl and shimmer, capturing the buzzing anticipation of life in avant-garde Europe. “What is of great importance to me,” he wrote, “is observation of the movement of colours.”
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

how much fabric do I need for a double bed comforter? Does it vary a lot?

Beautiful shade of grey...I am making a jumpsuit for my grandson's wedding. Love the weight..and it arrived quickly. 'Love this vendor!!
Pattern is Maia, so nice cut on the bias, it swings like a knit would.love the weight as paired with French Ticking in Dolphin. The bias cut for the neck was 2 1/2inches wide, folded double then applied to the neckedge. I did that so I would have a base to use for multiple rows of topstitching. Finished in about 3 hours. This was the easiest sleeve cap to insert with the most accurate fit ever. I have a sewing student who wants to learn to make clothing, this pattern will work well.
