Embellished Simplicity Tutorial
If your home is anything like mine, you will only need to reach under the sofa, and grab that dusty box of goodness filled to the brim with fancy ribbons, sparkly rhinestones and all sorts of other treasures that pretty much never see the light of day. Yet this week I decided it was time for change, so I took out some beads, rhinestones and sequins of all shapes and sizes and decided to make a new collar for an old tunic I too haven’t worn in years. A fabulous little job to make oneself pretty for the year to come, simple, relatively quick and super wallet friendly. Yes to this, I say.
Materials:
An old plain jumper, tshirt, tunic (no need to run to the shops for a new buy)
A selection of sequins, rhinestones, beads.’
Matching thread’
Needle
Scissors
Time: Approximately 1.5 hours
1. Make out a loose composition with your sequins and rhinestones. I took a photo for a later reference. Otherwise you can freestyle the whole process. Fun!
2. Once you are happy, brush off all sequins/rhinestones and make a start with sewing on one sequin at a time. It can become quite therapeutic after a while.
3. Take your jumper out for a drink and pat yourself on the back. Good job!
